BSL SATURDAY SCHOOL

Saturday School overview

BSL offers English classes to children from the public schools between the ages of 7 and 18 at our highly successful Saturday School. Children learn in a fun yet academic environment with our professional, qualified team of English teachers.

Each academic year there are 30 weekly sessions. Key components include: Vocabulary, Grammar, Speaking, Listening, Art and Crafts, Songs and other fun activities.

Your child will be placed in a small group, not necessarily of their own age but of a similar academic ability. This offers the child a far greater opportunity of rapid progression within the school year.

We appreciate that not all children learn at the same speed. Should any experience difficulty or, conversely, excel (shown in our continuous evaluations), we will not hesitate to offer that child a place within a more suitable group.

Cambridge English Examinations

Our Saturday School students will have the opportunity to sit for Cambridge English Examinations; these are internationally recognised qualifications that certify real-world English skills and open doors to academic and professional opportunities worldwide.

Cambridge English: Young Learners

Cambridge Young Learners is a series of fun and motivating English language tests designed to build confidence, encourage progress and reflect real-life English use. Aimed at children in primary and lower-secondary education, these activity-based examinations focus on positive learning experiences rather than pass or fail results. The three tests—Starters, Movers and Flyers—provide a clear and structured pathway, supporting students as they develop their English skills step by step.

Cambridge English: KET, PET & FCE

We offer Cambridge English qualifications at A2, B1 and B2 levels, including the Key English Test (KET), Preliminary English Test (PET) and First Certificate in English (FCE). These internationally recognised exams assess practical, real-life English skills and provide students with a clear pathway of progression. From building strong foundations at A2 to demonstrating independent and confident language use at B2, Cambridge English exams motivate learners, enhance academic and career prospects, and are valued by schools, universities and employers worldwide.
